Document

Health History forms need to be filled out every year, as it gives us important information regarding your child's health. It is hard to help a child if we are not knowledgeable about their health history. If you have not filled one of these forms out this year, please do so soon.

Illness

Please do not send your child to school if he/she has an uncontrollable cough, severe sinus drainage, fever of 100.0 or higher, vomiting and/or diarrhea. If your child comes to school within 12 hours of having any of these symptoms they may be sent back home. Children need to be free of vomit, diarrhea and fever without the aid of medication for 24 hours BEFORE returning to school. Please help us control the spread of illness by following these guidelines.

Exercise

Staying well can often be achieved through preventative actions. Eating smart and exercising are a GREAT place to start! Make it your mission to make a couple wise choices each day; drink more water, skip that extra sweet treat, or eat more veggies. Create a calorie deficit by exercising to burn off extra calories before you ever indulge in your favorite food. Eat less and exercise more and make fitness a family adventure. Take a walk early in the day and then again after dinner. It is a wonderful way for families to get physical activity and enjoy the holiday together.Make exercising an adventure by exploring a new hiking trail or setting a goal to bike a certain number of miles every week. Enjoy this beautiful place we live! Get out and explore it!

Eat Breakfast

While you might think it makes sense to save up calories for the big meal eating a small meal in the morning can give you more control over your appetite. Start your day with a small but satisfying breakfast so you won't be starving when you arrive at the gathering.

Eat Seasonally

Eating seasonally is not only good for the environment; it's also the best way to get the freshest, tastiest produce that the earth has to offer. Winter squashes are a delicious way to get vitamins, beta-carotenes and tons of fiber into your belly. Discover new recipes to share with family and friends. It's never too late to start a new tradition!

Police Your Portions

Don't waste your calories on foods that you can have all year long. Fill your plate with small portions of holiday favorites that only come around once a year so you can enjoy desirable, traditional foods.
